About Gregory May's Writing

Gregory began writing short stories on the long train runs between cities while traveling with the Ringling Brothers circus. His short fiction has appeared in Audience magazine, and he has published numerous trade articles in The New Calliope and Clowning Around magazines. Two of his novels were quarter-finalists in Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contests. His essay “Serious Silliness” was the MWA 2021 Ruck Scholarship winner and was published in the Pen In Hand literary journal.
He is currently represented by Margaret Danko of the High Line Literary Collective.

Tears of the Sun
In the fifteenth century on the slopes of the Andes Mountains, an Inca boy is just one of many royal sons, but when he turns twelve, a prophetic lie names him heir apparent over his eldest brother. Amid a savage rebellion that fractures the empire and attracts enemy nations, he escapes into the Amazon jungle where he is found by a family of hunter-gatherers. Now he must lead this tribe to retake the city of his birth, only to then defend it against an invading horde commanded by the fiercest warlord the Inca have ever faced.
